Rastrick Classic 2013

The Final 2013 - results

Sunday saw the final of the 2013 Rastrick Classic, a high quality field assembled after successfully coming through the qualifying stages in the previous eight weeks. Graeme Wilson attempting a treble of wins in three days after winning both at Preston and Brighouse on Friday and Saturday, was unsuccessful on this occasion after beating both Callum Wraight and Jim Derby before going out to a very impressive Scott Fisher who also won the highest break with an unanswered 20 points against local boy Clive Austin. The final certainly met everyone’s expectations, going to the wire with a high calibre of bowling and expert striking but it was the superb Yorkshire away captain, James Davison from Eccleshill who just managed to get over the line ahead of an in form Scot Fisher of Alverthorpe. A delighted James accepted the winners prize of £750 from our main sponsor Thwaites brewery representative, Mark Noble. James ended the evening making a short eloquent speech thanking the club and sponsors, offering commiserations to his opponents and saying what an excellent venue Rastrick was.
